I had 32 players at my last game and I feel like King Shit of Shit Mountain.
So I guess I am doing something right.

Oh noes, now you must allow 12 MC characters to stomp all the low MC characters so everyone remembers it's still the cam.
When we're all MC 12, everyone wins! Or loses. I'm not sure which. I think Scientologists are involved somewhere.
